Craniosacral therapy session conducted in the Float Pod. The beautiful depths of craniosacral therapy sessions can be unlocked through receiving in water, offering access to the movement and stretching beyond our terrestrial limits. The added benefit of the lack of gravity allows us to feel embraced by a secure support system as we explore parts of ourselves that were previously inaccessible. By supporting the body’s natural healing processes, you will be able to reach new heights of wellness.

Craniosacral Therapy in the water is an extraordinary experience in that it allows the body and emotions to be expressed more freely and with a fluidity that is difficult to match on a massage table

What Happens in a Session?

Our sessions range from 30-60 minutes and are held in Winnipeg, Manitoba in a float pod. Before we begin we will get acquainted and discuss the reasons for your being at the session.

If you’re apprehensive about what to expect during our session, we can address those fears. We have a shower available for pre and post-float use as well as an area where you can change into your swimsuit in privacy.

Applying Craniosacral therapy in water is similarly to traditional sessions, I will start with a light touch and assess the craniosacral environment before gently engaging your cerebrospinal fluid into an adequately aligned position.

Your experience in each session may differ greatly. Clients can expect a range of sensations from tingling and calmness to intense emotional or physical release, including “SomatoEmotional Release” – the discharge of difficult memories kept within the body that are ready to be transcended.

My primary aim is to offer a secure and comforting atmosphere in order for your body, mind, and soul to self-correct.

After the session, there will be time provided for processing any revelations that arose during our time together so that you can integrate them into your life.

A Brief Summary

The craniosacral system is a semi-closed hydraulic system that surrounds the brain and the spinal cord. It is the metabolic machine responsible for the inflow of nutrients and the outflow of waste products.

The cerebrospinal fluid is a clear, watery fluid containing glucose, proteins, urea, salts and some lymphocytes. Approximately 100-150 ml. of this fluid circulates throughout the central nervous system

Traumas, illnesses, physical and emotional injuries, or even childbirth can all have a detrimental impact on the craniosacral system.

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is so delicate and profound that it can easily be overlooked in the evaluation process. Having a therapist well-versed with CST can open up incredible pathways for healing that are gentle, effective, and beyond comprehension.

When beginning the process, we primarily focus on calming down the sympathetic nervous system and providing a secure atmosphere for activating our parasympathetic nervous system.

As the body gradually sinks into a tranquil and relaxed state, muscles, the fascial system and even bones relax. The fluids of the body become active again as they flow freely through your system.

To experience optimum results from this type of therapy, a series of treatments is generally recommended over the course of one to four weeks. This allows ample time for your body to reset and reorganize following each session. As shifts occur in response to the prior appointment, they can be built upon at subsequent visits.

During the session, you’ll tap into your innermost self and unlock a serene, invigorated peace within. Your body will then be able to reset itself from this newfound clarity.

To assist people in unlocking the healing potential of their parasympathetic nervous system, practitioners use a carefully designed sequence of steps. These steps result in deep and powerful emotional releases that can profoundly change an individual’s life.

When releasing tissues, it is common to experience sensations of lengthening or spreading, softening, heat, sighs of relief and increased fluid flow. Moreover, rapid eye movement and yawning may occur along with laughter as well as a therapeutic pulse or an emotional release.

Symptoms That May Respond and Be Released Are:

  • Lumber/hip pain
  • Pre/post surgical procedures
  • Gross motor imbalances
  • SI joint pain, lower, mid and upper back pain
  • Congestion
  • stress/strain relating to the colon, liver, gall bladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach, kidneys, bladder, uterus, ovaries, neck pain, headaches, heart/lung pulmonary imbalance, breathing difficulties,
  • Thyroid imbalance.
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • Whiplash injury
